Sports Saturday ( 25th July 2009)

Date : 25th July 2009 ( Saturday )

It was the first sports meet of the second semester here in OCF. This time, it was organised by John Tan, who has made lots of planning and preparation for this event in order to get people along and fellowship through sports. Approximately 20 people turned up for the event. Quantity may be less, but it was the fun and satisfaction in the sports that counts.

The sports was held in the indoor sports hall at AUT Akoranga campus. The main sports was dodgeball. As most of you have or have not watched the movie, it is basically a game consist of 2 teams of 4 or 5 each, grab a ball and throw it to the opponent. Once got hit, you're out!. If your opponent caught the ball you threw, you're out too! It may sound easy but it is not. Talking about hard, it is also rather tiring. Whoooott. Trust me, I was gasping for air. Maybe I do not have good stamina. AHHAHAAH...

Besides dodgeball, we played other games like touch rugby, soccer and badminton. Although it was just a social game, but it was intense at some point, especially when everyone's screaming out loud. If one screams, the other will. Funny as it may sound but that's true. Haha.

You may think, after sports, we're done. In AOCF, that's not really the case. After all the exhaustion from the sports, we filled up our empty stomach together at Takapuna Beach. Some of us ate Burger King while some ate pies. What a beautiful day to sit and relax at the beach. Seeing people walking around, dogs running from one end to another, birds chirping, yacht sailing and of course the view of the Rangitoto Island surrounded with the blue sea. I find it very cute that the little sparrow actually came to my hand and ate away the very small pinch of bread. Hahaha. So yea, what a lovely day!

That's it for Sports Saturday. Hopefully that if there's anymore sports event coming up, be sure to come because you wouldn't want to miss all the fun. Sometimes we do need to loosen up a bit instead of confining yourself in your room studying. Besides it's at 11am or maybe in the afternoon. It's not that you'll be sleeping until that late. So there's no excuse for not coming. Hehe.

Ok, I don't want to sound very mean. I just want to encourage you that while you're still in university, grab the opportunity to fellowship among each other. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. If there's anything that we can do, please do let us know. We will try our best to help you overcome it from prayers =). Take care and God bless.
