AOCF snow trip 2009 - confirmed details

Hi there, folks!

Josh made an excellent introduction on Friday with his awesome PowerPoint slides and here is the detailed email as promised.

WHEN?

First week of the mid-sem break,

Wednesday 2nd Sept to Saturday 5th Sept

(Note the change of date)

WHERE?

  • Skiing/Snow Boarding at Mt Ruapehu and chillax in Rotorua
  • We will be staying at Station Lodge in Ohakune for a night and Youth Hostel Association (Treks) in Rotorua for 2 nights.
  • Station Lodge is right next to SLR which is where we’ll rent our snow equipment and YHA is where us OCFers stayed at during the mid-year break recently.

WHO?

-ABSOLUTELY ANYBODY!

WHY should you be there?

-Because it will be Awesome. Food, fellowship and fun! Everything we need after a very, very long half-a-semester.

HOW MUCH? ( L )

Here is our guesstimate:

-Accommodation (roughly $25 per night per person), petrol (roughly $40, depending on the car you’re in), food, activities.

-Activities cost will depend on what you end up doing.

Here’s a brief outline of itinerary as of now:

Wednesday
9am: Meet at Chapel, pray etc
About 12pm: Lunch somewhere in Hamilton or somewhere with food
About 330/4pm: Arrive at Station Lodge, Ohakune and check in
Rest of the day: Bum around, supermarket shop, dinner, BIG SLEEP IN PREPARATION FOR SNOW!


Thursday
630am: Wake up, breakfast
720am: Be outside SLR, waiting for it to open at 730am
830am: Hopefully on the way down to the snow

Onward: SNOWSNOWSNOW
4pm: Gather, return gear, back on the road to Rotorua
Arrive, check in, pizza for dinner

Friday

SLEEP IN, activities.
BBQ dinner

SATURDAY
10am: Check out, slowly make our way back to Aucks.

Bring $25 as a non-redundable down payment for the Station Lodge accommodation either on the 14th of August, THIS Friday at OCF or 21st of August, NEXT Friday at OCF.

Kelvin will be collecting the money then.
